I’ve had a very busy few months starting with a solo art exhibition in June called Meditations & Beautiful Distractions at the Runnymede Library followed by the Toronto Indie Arts Market on August 21 (where I got to mingle with Olivia Chow), The Cabbagetown Art & Crafts Sale the weekend of September 5 and Scotibank Nuit Blanche on October 3. I am now preparing for several Holiday art and crafts shows. Details to follow soon!

I had such a fantastic time at Cabbagetown and was thrilled with the great feedback from the people who visited my booth. And once again, the quality of the art was phenomenal. I’m looking forward to applying for next year.

The Flight of Rest

My mixed media collage, The Flight of Rest, was featured in the Red Head Gallery’s Insomnia Salon Soirée. The yearly salon show, specially created for Toronto’s Nuit Blanche, showcased a series of artworks that reflected the theme of Insomnia. The exhibition began on October 1st at noon, and culminated with Nuit Blanche’s end at 7am on the morning of October 5th. It was an excellently curated exhibit and I was very proud to have been selected to be part of this exciting event.

And, to top things off, I did two TV interviews!

In August, Daniel Ashwin Pillay of Anokhi Media came by my studio where we talked about my solo show Meditations & Beautiful Distractions, which featured eight new works on Buddha. It was on display at the Runnymede Library the entire month of June. Daniel and I also discussed my interest in Hindu gods and goddesses and looked at some of my collages featuring Ganesh and the Goddess Durga. I LOVE the way they pieced the story together!

Insomnia ou la souffrance créatrice

On October 3, TFO 24.7 sent a crew to interview me during Scotiabank Nuit Blanche at the Red Head Gallery. It’s a great little clip. They too did a fantastic job in creating a dynamic and visually appealing segment. I’m thrilled to have had the opportunity to talk about the piece I created especially for the gallery’s salon show.

Thanks for reading and watching. Stay tuned for details regarding the Holiday art markets!
